South Pasadena, California
A cinema, a landmark, a neighborhood fixture for a century — and available to book.
Start an enquiryBuilt in 1925 and restored with its original character intact, the Rialto pairs a full proscenium stage and raked auditorium with a mezzanine, balcony and a set of smaller rooms — so one building can hold a ceremony, a reception and a green room at once.
It's cared for by Mosaic, and our community gathers here on Sundays. The rest of the week it's yours. Tell us what you're planning and we'll work out the details together.
Book the whole building or a single room. We'll help you match the space to the event when we talk.

The main room — raked seating facing the stage, under the original proscenium and plaster detail. The heart of the building.

A full proscenium stage with house sound and lighting, suited to live performance, ceremonies, panels and presentations.

The level above the lobby — an easy spot for receptions, registration, a bar or a quieter room alongside the main event.

Elevated seating over the auditorium. A favorite for camera positions and for overflow on a full house.

Where your guests arrive — the original tilework, the stair up to the mezzanine, and room to gather before doors.

Below the house — useful as back-of-house, storage, crew space or a holding area during a shoot.

A self-contained room for meetings, workshops, rehearsals or a breakout alongside something larger.

An open, flexible room that works for classes, receptions, green room or crew catering.

A smaller room, easy to set up as childcare, a quiet space or a dedicated area for families attending.
A century-old theatre is a rare kind of room. These are the ones we host most often.
Ceremony on the stage, reception on the mezzanine — one building, no moving your guests across town.
A real stage, a raked house and sightlines built for an audience, with sound and lighting already in place.
Period architecture, a working theatre and back-of-house space — with crew areas and a basement to stage from.
Main-stage sessions with breakout rooms upstairs and down, and a lobby that works for registration.
A setting that isn't a hotel ballroom, for launches, all-hands, screenings and team days.
We keep room for neighborhood and non-profit use. Tell us about the event and we'll talk it through.
The honest version, before you spend time on a form.
Four-hour minimum. Where it lands depends on the kind of event, which spaces you need, how much staffing it takes, and how long set-up and teardown run. Tell us what you're planning and we'll put a real number to it.
Mosaic gathers here on Sunday mornings. Any Sunday rental, set-up included, begins after 3pm.
We need at least two weeks' notice before an event or recording date.
Nothing is booked until a contract has been signed.
We'll be in touch with availability and next steps.
